The Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Plan, or PEEHIP for short, was established in 1983 to provide quality healthcare insurance benefits for the health and well-being of our members.

2024 Flex Account Filing Deadline is January 15

There are only a few days left to submit a reimbursement request for funds in your 2024 Healthcare Flexible Spending Account (FSA) and Dependent Care Reimbursement Account (DCRA). Reimbursement requests for qualifying expenses incurred between October 1, 2023, through September 30, 2024, must be submitted directly to HealthEquity along with supporting documentation by January 15, 2025. Unused funds cannot be refunded. However, PEEHIP will allow active members to carryover up to $610 of unused funds in their FSA to use on eligible expenses in the subsequent plan year. Any funds remaining in the DCRA and more than $610 in the FSA after the filing deadline will be forfeited.

To check the balance on your FSA and DCRA or submit a reimbursement request, go to https://learn.healthequity.com/peehip or download the HealthEquity mobile app. If you have any questions or need assistance filing your reimbursement request, please contact HealthEquity customer service at 877-288-0719.

December 2024: Watch your mail for a new ID card from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Please know there is no change to your PEEHIP copays, deductibles, or covered benefits. To be compliant with federal regulations, these cards simply reflect the new 2025 Out-of-Pocket Maximums. These amounts are updated every year since they began as part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. The amounts shown on the card provide you with the maximum sum amount that you could possibly pay in out-of-pocket charges during the plan year. No action is required on your part.
