Accessibility Policy

RSA aims to provide for its members and employees, as well as to the general public, a website that is available to the broadest possible audience.  To that end, RSA is committed to ensuring access to RSA’s websites regardless of an individual’s physical or developmental abilities.

Accessibility Guidelines

RSA uses the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines version 2.1 (WCAG 2.1) as its goal for accessible RSA and PEEHIP websites on the www.rsa-al.gov domain.  These guidelines establish standards of accessibility for information in a web page or web application, including information such as text, images and sounds, as well as code or markup that defines architecture and presentation of web and online content.

Responsibilities

RSA’s Communications Division is responsible for the procurement, development, and/or maintenance of the RSA and PEEHIP websites.  The Communications Division is responsible for using its best efforts to ensure that each piece of web content created, edited, or maintained on an RSA or PEEHIP website complies with this policy. The Communications Division must promptly report web accessibility complaints regarding content to the RSA Legal Division, and the two divisions will collectively work to address any complaints to the best of their abilities.

RSA has designated Deborah Kirk, Director of Communications, as Accessibility Coordinator.  To contact the Accessibility Coordinator in order to find out more information about RSA’s Accessibility Guidelines or to make RSA aware of an issue with website accessibility, please call 334-517-7190 or e-mail communication.correspondences@rsa-al.gov.

Policy Review and Updates

RSA plans to evaluate the RSA and PEEHIP websites on a regular basis to review compliance with applicable standards and will continue to integrate feasible accessibility standards as new technologies emerge.
