The Public Education Employees' Health Insurance Plan, or PEEHIP for short, was established in 1983 to provide quality healthcare insurance benefits for the health and well-being of our members.

December 2023: Watch your mail for a new ID card from Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama. Please know there is no change to your PEEHIP copays, deductibles, or covered benefits. To be compliant with federal regulations, these cards simply reflect the new 2024 Out-of-Pocket Maximums. These amounts are updated every year since they began as part of the 2010 Affordable Care Act. The amounts shown on the card provide you with the maximum sum amount that you could possibly pay in out-of-pocket charges during the plan year. No action is required on your part.

• Enroll online for New Members
• Make changes during Open Enrollment
