Public Employees' Health Insurance Plan (PEEHIP)

 

PEEHIP, established in 1983, provides health insurance benefits for active and retired education employees and is governed by the PEEHIP Board of Control.  The Boards of Control elect the Secretary-Treasurer who serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the RSA and is responsible for the day-to-day management of the RSA.

PEEHIP has a New Open Enrollment web page!  Our members can easily find the information they need on the new Open Enrollment web page to help them make informed decisions about their health plan selections during the 2009-2010 open enrollment period.  Click the new “Open Enrollment” link found to the left of your screen to access the Open Enrollment web page.

Open Enrollment Packets will not be mailed to PEEHIP members beginning with the upcoming 2009-2010 open enrollment.  Instead, active and retired members can view and/or download a copy of the Open Enrollment packet from the new Open Enrollment web page.  Members who do not have Internet access and cannot download the information can call the RSA Member Services Department at 877-517-0020 and request a copy.

PEEHIP has a new Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) web page to provide you with the answers to your most frequently asked questions 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.   This new web page is designed to help you quickly find question(s) and answer(s) and avoid wasted time and unnecessary headaches.  Just click the “Frequently Asked Questions” link in the menu to the left of your screen to access the FAQs.

Medicare Protection Toolkit

New Online Services now Available:  Within 45 days of a Qualifying Life Event (QLE), members who have one or more of the four following Qualifying Life Events can enroll in or make changes online to his or her health insurance and/or flexible spending accounts outside of the Open Enrollment period:   adoption of a child; birth of a child; legal custody of a child; and marriage of a subscriber.   New PEEHIP employees can enroll online in PEEHIP coverages up until 30 days after his or her hire date and can choose the effective date of coverage to be either the date of hire or the first of the month following the date of hire.
